A Note About Alaskan Haze
Alaskan Haze started with questions.
What’s happening here in Alaska? What’s happening elsewhere that affects us? And, what’s missing?
There is no shortage of information. The harder part is sorting through it — finding the original sources, looking at the data, and understanding enough of the context to decide what it means.
I’m a longtime Alaskan and a retired technology professional with a background in information management, data analysis and higher education. I’ve also spent years working in civic and voter education. Researching complicated subjects, asking questions, developing systems and trying to make technology accessible to users have been recurring threads through all of that work.
Alaskan Haze is independent. It isn’t affiliated with a political party, campaign, nonprofit, or news organization. This personal website reflects my own opinions and research, not those of any organization. You’ll find facts, data, primary sources when I can get them, and my analysis where I have something to add. I’ll try to distinguish among them.
You may reach a different conclusion than I do.
That’s rather the point.
